This bright and colorful hand painted 14" ceramic platter is made in a small family factory near Assisi in the Umbria region of Italy. The factory uses a special process that fires each piece one additional time (for a total of three firings instead of the usual two) with a clear coat glaze to give it an extra shiny finish.  Also, this piece has a unique, variegated texture, which provides lovely, colorful reflections.  This platter can be used for display or decorative purposes (there are holes on the back for hanging), and also makes a great serving piece, as it is food safe and dishwasher safe.
