This is a very substantial hand painted decorative wall plate from Turkey, and a real collector's piece! The scalloped edges add definition and accentuate the intricate floral design. The design is a colorful, classic traditional Turkish design popularized in Iznik, a city south of Istanbul known for its ceramics production during Ottoman times in the 16th and 17th century. Hand crafted and hand painted by a small workshop in Turkey.
