In Morocco, potters employ a special technique that involves cutting a pattern into the surface of the clay, exposing the natural terra cotta color underneath. The result is an interesting mix of texture and painting that adds depth to their artistic creations.
This small decorative vase measures 6.5" high and makes a nice accent piece on a bookshelf or mantel. Handmade by artisans in the historical pottery center of Safi in Morocco.
Please note that Moroccan pottery is made by entirely by hand and tends to be very rustic in appearance, often including numerous imperfections which do not detract from its value but add to its charm. |
